Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. आह मां तत्र देवेशो गच्छ पाण्डुसुतानिति ।
सोऽहमभ्यागतः क्षिप्रं दिदृक्षुस्त्वां सहानुजम् ॥ ७ ॥

āha māṃ tatra deveśo gaccha pāṇḍusutāniti |
so'hamabhyāgataḥ kṣipraṃ didṛkṣustvāṃ sahānujam || 7 ||
