Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. तत्रेशानं समभ्यर्च्य त्रिरात्रोपोषितो नरः ।
दशाश्वमेधमाप्नोति गाणपत्यं च विन्दति ।
उष्य द्वादशरात्रं तु कृतात्मा भवते नरः ॥ २५ ॥
