Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. तत्राभिषेकं कुर्वीत वल्मीकान्निःसृते जले ।
अर्चयित्वा पितॄन्देवानश्वमेधफलं लभेत् ॥ ६ ॥

tatrābhiṣekaṃ kurvīta valmīkānniḥsṛte jale |
arcayitvā pitṝndevānaśvamedhaphalaṃ labhet || 6 ||
