Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. एते देवास्त्रयः कृत्स्नं त्रैलोक्यं धारयन्ति वै ।
विब्रुवन्तु यथासत्यमेते वाद्य त्यजन्तु माम् ॥ १० ॥

ete devāstrayaḥ kṛtsnaṃ trailokyaṃ dhārayanti vai |
vibruvantu yathāsatyamete vādya tyajantu mām || 10 ||
