Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. तानुवाच वरारोहा कच्चिद्भगवतामिह ।
तपस्यग्निषु धर्मेषु मृगपक्षिषु चानघाः ।
कुशलं वो महाभागाः स्वधर्मचरणेषु च ॥ ६६ ॥

tānuvāca varārohā kaccidbhagavatāmiha |
tapasyagniṣu dharmeṣu mṛgapakṣiṣu cānaghāḥ |
kuśalaṃ vo mahābhāgāḥ svadharmacaraṇeṣu ca || 66 ||
