Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. धृष्टद्युम्न उवाच ।
अहं द्रोणं हनिष्यामि शिखण्डी तु पितामहम् ।
दुर्योधनं भीमसेनः कर्णं हन्ता धनंजयः ॥ ११८ ॥

dhṛṣṭadyumna uvāca |
ahaṃ droṇaṃ haniṣyāmi śikhaṇḍī tu pitāmaham |
duryodhanaṃ bhīmasenaḥ karṇaṃ hantā dhanaṃjayaḥ || 118 ||
