Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. सुतेयं यज्ञसेनस्य द्यूतेऽस्मिन्धृतराष्ट्रजैः ।
यैर्वाचः श्राविता रूक्षाः स्थितैर्दुर्योधनप्रिये ॥ ४३ ॥

suteyaṃ yajñasenasya dyūte'smindhṛtarāṣṭrajaiḥ |
yairvācaḥ śrāvitā rūkṣāḥ sthitairduryodhanapriye || 43 ||
