Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. अस्याज्ञावशगाः सर्वे भविष्यन्ति नराधिपाः ।
सर्वभूतात्मभूतस्य वायोरिव शरीरिणः ॥ १८ ॥

asyājñāvaśagāḥ sarve bhaviṣyanti narādhipāḥ |
sarvabhūtātmabhūtasya vāyoriva śarīriṇaḥ || 18 ||
