Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. भीम उवाच ।
यदिदं गृहमाग्नेयं विहितं मन्यते भवान् ।
तत्रैव साधु गच्छामो यत्र पूर्वोषिता वयम् ॥ १८ ॥

bhīma uvāca |
yadidaṃ gṛhamāgneyaṃ vihitaṃ manyate bhavān |
tatraiva sādhu gacchāmo yatra pūrvoṣitā vayam || 18 ||
