Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. विस्फुरन्तः श्वसन्तश्च वेष्टयन्तस्तथा परे ।
पुच्छैः शिरोभिश्च भृशं चित्रभानुं प्रपेदिरे ॥ २१ ॥
