Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. उद्योगपर्व विज्ञेयं पञ्चमं शृण्वतः परम् ।
उपप्लव्ये निविष्टेषु पाण्डवेषु जिगीषया ।
दुर्योधनोऽर्जुनश्चैव वासुदेवमुपस्थितौ ॥ १३६ ॥
