Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. जन्तूपाख्यानमत्रैव यत्र पुत्रेण सोमकः ।
पुत्रार्थमयजद्राजा लेभे पुत्रशतं च सः ॥ ११९ ॥

jantūpākhyānamatraiva yatra putreṇa somakaḥ |
putrārthamayajadrājā lebhe putraśataṃ ca saḥ || 119 ||
