Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. पार्थस्य वनवासश्च उलूप्या पथि संगमः ।
पुण्यतीर्थानुसंयानं बभ्रुवाहनजन्म च ॥ ९१ ॥

pārthasya vanavāsaśca ulūpyā pathi saṃgamaḥ |
puṇyatīrthānusaṃyānaṃ babhruvāhanajanma ca || 91 ||
