Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. इमे च देवगन्धर्वाः सर्वे चैव महर्षयः ।
पश्यन्तु तपसो वीर्यमद्य मे चिरसंभृतम् ॥ २० ॥

ime ca devagandharvāḥ sarve caiva maharṣayaḥ |
paśyantu tapaso vīryamadya me cirasaṃbhṛtam || 20 ||
