Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. साभ्यगच्छत मां देवि रूपेणाप्रतिमा भुवि ।
प्रदक्षिणं लोभयन्ती मां शुभे रुचिरानना ॥ २ ॥

sābhyagacchata māṃ devi rūpeṇāpratimā bhuvi |
pradakṣiṇaṃ lobhayantī māṃ śubhe rucirānanā || 2 ||
