Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. गावो ममैनः प्रणुदन्तु सौर्यास्तथा सौम्याः स्वर्गयानाय सन्तु ।
आम्नाता मे ददतीराश्रयं तु तथानुक्ताः सन्तु सर्वाशिषो मे ॥ ११ ॥

gāvo mamainaḥ praṇudantu sauryāstathā saumyāḥ svargayānāya santu |
āmnātā me dadatīrāśrayaṃ tu tathānuktāḥ santu sarvāśiṣo me || 11 ||
