Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ब्राह्मणांश्चाभिमन्येत गुरूंश्चाप्यभिपूजयेत् ।
सर्वभूतानुलोमश्च मृदुशीलः प्रियंवदः ॥ २८ ॥

brāhmaṇāṃścābhimanyeta gurūṃścāpyabhipūjayet |
sarvabhūtānulomaśca mṛduśīlaḥ priyaṃvadaḥ || 28 ||
