Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. Verse 13.12.24

तान्दृष्ट्वा भ्रातृभावेन भुञ्जानान्राज्यमुत्तमम् ।
चिन्तयामास देवेन्द्रो मन्युनाभिपरिप्लुतः ।
उपकारोऽस्य राजर्षेः कृतो नापकृतं मया ॥ २४ ॥

tāndṛṣṭvā bhrātṛbhāvena bhuñjānānrājyamuttamam |
cintayāmāsa devendro manyunābhipariplutaḥ |
upakāro'sya rājarṣeḥ kṛto nāpakṛtaṃ mayā || 24 ||
