मासपक्षोपवासेन मन्यन्ते यत्तपो जनाः ।
आत्मतन्त्रोपघातः स न तपस्तत्सतां मतम् ।
त्यागश्च सन्नतिश्चैव शिष्यते तप उत्तमम् ॥ ४ ॥
