Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. लिप्सेत मनसा यश्च संकल्पादैश्वरं गुणम् ।
आत्मप्रभावात्तं विद्यात्सर्वा ह्यात्मनि देवताः ॥ १५ ॥

lipseta manasā yaśca saṃkalpādaiśvaraṃ guṇam |
ātmaprabhāvāttaṃ vidyātsarvā hyātmani devatāḥ || 15 ||
