Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. स्वशक्त्याहं ददानीति त्वया पूर्वं प्रभाषितम् ।
याचे त्वां दीयतां मह्यं जप्यस्यास्य फलं द्विज ॥ ४३ ॥
