Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ऊष्मतो ग्लानपर्णानां त्वक्फलं पुष्पमेव च ।
म्लायते चैव शीते न स्पर्शस्तेनात्र विद्यते ॥ ११ ॥

ūṣmato glānaparṇānāṃ tvakphalaṃ puṣpameva ca |
mlāyate caiva śīte na sparśastenātra vidyate || 11 ||
