Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. तत्र चागत्य चण्डालो वैरन्त्यकृतकेतनः ।
अयोजयत्तमुन्माथं नित्यमस्तं गते रवौ ॥ २३ ॥

ayojayattamunmāthaṃ nityamastaṃ gate ravau || 23 ||
