Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. अपक्रमितुमिच्छेद्वा यथाकामं तु सान्त्वयेत् ।
विलिङ्गमित्वा मित्रेण ततः स्वयमुपक्रमेत् ॥ १४ ॥

apakramitumicchedvā yathākāmaṃ tu sāntvayet |
viliṅgamitvā mitreṇa tataḥ svayamupakramet || 14 ||
