Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. यत्राबलो वध्यमानस्त्रातारं नाधिगच्छति ।
महान्दैवकृतस्तत्र दण्डः पतति दारुणः ॥ २१ ॥

yatrābalo vadhyamānastrātāraṃ nādhigacchati |
mahāndaivakṛtastatra daṇḍaḥ patati dāruṇaḥ || 21 ||
