Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. कौस्तुभेन उरःस्थेन मणिनाभिविराजितम् ।
उद्यतेवोदयं शैलं सूर्येणाप्तकिरीटिनम् ।
नौपम्यं विद्यते यस्य त्रिषु लोकेषु किंचन ॥ १५ ॥

kaustubhena uraḥsthena maṇinābhivirājitam |
udyatevodayaṃ śailaṃ sūryeṇāptakirīṭinam |
naupamyaṃ vidyate yasya triṣu lokeṣu kiṃcana || 15 ||
