Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ततः स राजा सस्मार मामन्तर्गतमानसः ।
तच्चाहं चिन्तितं ज्ञात्वा गतवांस्तस्य दर्शनम् ॥ ३९ ॥

tataḥ sa rājā sasmāra māmantargatamānasaḥ |
taccāhaṃ cintitaṃ jñātvā gatavāṃstasya darśanam || 39 ||
