Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. मा शुचो धृतराष्ट्र त्वं नैष भीमस्त्वया हतः ।
आयसी प्रतिमा ह्येषा त्वया राजन्निपातिता ॥ २३ ॥

mā śuco dhṛtarāṣṭra tvaṃ naiṣa bhīmastvayā hataḥ |
āyasī pratimā hyeṣā tvayā rājannipātitā || 23 ||
