Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. व्रीडां जग्मुः पुरा याः स्म सखीनामपि योषितः ।
ता एकवस्त्रा निर्लज्जाः श्वश्रूणां पुरतोऽभवन् ॥ १५ ॥

vrīḍāṃ jagmuḥ purā yāḥ sma sakhīnāmapi yoṣitaḥ |
tā ekavastrā nirlajjāḥ śvaśrūṇāṃ purato'bhavan || 15 ||
