Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. स मया समनुप्राप्तो नास्मि शोच्यः कथंचन ।
कृतं भवद्भिः सदृशमनुरूपमिवात्मनः ।
यतितं विजये नित्यं दैवं तु दुरतिक्रमम् ॥ २९ ॥
