Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. तत्र मोदन्ति देवाश्च पितरश्च सवीरुधः ।
पुण्यैः पुष्पैः सदा दिव्यैः कीर्यमाणाः पुनः पुनः ॥ ७ ॥
