Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. कोऽन्यः शक्तो रणे जेतुमृते पार्थं युधिष्ठिरम् ।
यस्य नाथो हृषीकेशः सदा धर्मयशोनिधिः ॥ २७ ॥

ko'nyaḥ śakto raṇe jetumṛte pārthaṃ yudhiṣṭhiram |
yasya nātho hṛṣīkeśaḥ sadā dharmayaśonidhiḥ || 27 ||
