Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. द्रौणेस्तु धनुषः शब्दमहितत्रासनं रणे ।
अश्रौषं बहुशो राजन्सिंहस्य नदतो यथा ॥ ११७ ॥

drauṇestu dhanuṣaḥ śabdamahitatrāsanaṃ raṇe |
aśrauṣaṃ bahuśo rājansiṃhasya nadato yathā || 117 ||
