Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. नैनं दुःशासनः सूतं नापि कश्चन सैनिकः ।
हृतोत्तमाङ्गमाशुत्वात्सहदेवेन बुद्धवान् ॥ ३ ॥

nainaṃ duḥśāsanaḥ sūtaṃ nāpi kaścana sainikaḥ |
hṛtottamāṅgamāśutvātsahadevena buddhavān || 3 ||
