Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. भैमसेनिमथायान्तं मायाशतविशारदम् ।
अश्वत्थामा पितुर्मानं कुर्वाणः प्रत्यषेधयत् ॥ १२ ॥

aśvatthāmā piturmānaṃ kurvāṇaḥ pratyaṣedhayat || 12 ||
