Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ते शरातुरभूयिष्ठा हताश्वनरवाहनाः ।
उत्सृज्य कर्णं भीमं च प्राद्रवन्सर्वतोदिशम् ॥ १२ ॥

te śarāturabhūyiṣṭhā hatāśvanaravāhanāḥ |
utsṛjya karṇaṃ bhīmaṃ ca prādravansarvatodiśam || 12 ||
