Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ततो दुर्योधनः प्रायात्तूर्णमाचार्यशासनात् ।
उद्यम्यात्मानमुग्राय कर्मणे सपदानुगः ॥ २२ ॥

tato duryodhanaḥ prāyāttūrṇamācāryaśāsanāt |
udyamyātmānamugrāya karmaṇe sapadānugaḥ || 22 ||
