Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ततः क्रोधाभिताम्राक्षो निर्दहन्निव पावकः ।
संदधे त्वाष्ट्रमस्त्रं स स्वयं त्वष्टेव मारिष ॥ ३४ ॥

tataḥ krodhābhitāmrākṣo nirdahanniva pāvakaḥ |
saṃdadhe tvāṣṭramastraṃ sa svayaṃ tvaṣṭeva māriṣa || 34 ||
