Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. कालप्राप्तमहं मन्ये मा त्वं दुर्योधनातिगाः ।
शमे चेद्याचमानं त्वं प्रत्याख्यास्यसि केशवम् ।
हितार्थमभिजल्पन्तं न तथास्त्यपराजयः ॥ २३ ॥

kālaprāptamahaṃ manye mā tvaṃ duryodhanātigāḥ |
śame cedyācamānaṃ tvaṃ pratyākhyāsyasi keśavam |
