Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. तमनुप्रयतो वायुः पुण्यगन्धवहः शुचिः ।
ववौ संहर्षयन्पार्थं द्विषतश्चापि शोषयन् ॥ २४ ॥

tamanuprayato vāyuḥ puṇyagandhavahaḥ śuciḥ |
vavau saṃharṣayanpārthaṃ dviṣataścāpi śoṣayan || 24 ||
