Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. जज्वालालंकृतैः सेना पत्रिभिः प्राणभोजनैः ।
नानालिङ्गैस्तदामित्रान्क्रुद्धे निघ्नति फल्गुने ॥ २६ ॥
