This is verse 15.18 of the Jnaneshwari (Bhavartha-Dipika), the English translation of 13th-century Marathi commentary on the Bhagavad-Gita.—The Dnyaneshwari (Jnaneshwari) brings to light the deeper meaning of the Gita which represents the essence of the Vedic Religion. This is verse 18 of the chapter called Purusottama-yoga.
Verse 15.18
Verse 15.18: “Since I have transcended the Mutable and am even superior to the Immutable, therefore it is that, both in the world and in the Veda, I am proclaimed as the Purushottam [Purushottama] (Highest Person). (557)
Commentary called Jnaneshwari by Jnaneshwar:
Oh Dhananjaya, he illumines himself—in fact, there is no need to say more, there is no duality in him. I (myself) am that one attributeless—superior to the Kshara as well as Akshara and the sole single one: and therefore it is, that both the Vedas and the world proclaim me as ‘Purushottama’ (Highest Person).
