This is verse 3.21 of the Jnaneshwari (Bhavartha-Dipika), the English translation of 13th-century Marathi commentary on the Bhagavad-Gita.—The Dnyaneshwari (Jnaneshwari) brings to light the deeper meaning of the Gita which represents the essence of the Vedic Religion. This is verse 21 of the chapter called Karma-yoga.

Verse 3.21:Whatever the best (man) does, the very same thing does the ordinary man. Whatever he sets up as the standard, that the world conforms to. (158)

Commentary called Jnaneshwari by Jnaneshwar:

Whatever the elders do, is called the religion and it is followed by others (ordinary persons). This is just in accordance with the order of nature and therefore especially the saints of higher insight should continue doing their duties according to their own religion without hesitation.
