This is verse 1.31 of the Jnaneshwari (Bhavartha-Dipika), the English translation of 13th-century Marathi commentary on the Bhagavad-Gita.—The Dnyaneshwari (Jnaneshwari) brings to light the deeper meaning of the Gita which represents the essence of the Vedic Religion. This is verse 31 of the chapter called Arjuna’s Dolour.

Verse 1.31: “And I notice, O Keshava, adverse omens; and I perceive no good from killing the kin in the strife.” (207)

Commentary called Jnaneshwari by Jnaneshwar:

If the Kauravas are to be killed, why not Dharma and others? You know they are all our co-Gotrajas. Therefore fie upon this war which does not appear to ine to be pure. What object can be secured by committing this great sin? Lord! viewed from many stand-points the war will only result in something untoward. It would be good if it can be avoided anyhow.
