Verse 1.1: Dhritarashtra Spake “On that holy (battle)-field—at Kurukshetra—foregathered, (and) lusting for combat, what did mine own (sons) and the sons of Pandu do, O Samjaya?” (85)
Commentary called Jnaneshwari by Jnaneshwar:
Dhritarashtra overcome with love for his sons, questions Samjaya “Tell me the account of Kurukshetra which is called the holy land and where mine own and Pandu’s sons have assembled for a battle. Samjaya, tell me immediately what they are all doing there so long towards each other.”
