जनमेजय उवाच ।
पुनरेव महाबाहो कृष्णस्य जगतीपतेः ।
कृतार्थाः सर्वथा विप्र नारायणसमाश्रयात् ।
जाता हि वयमद्यैव तत्कथाश्रवणाद्द्विज ।
इत्युक्तः स स्मितं कृत्वा प्रणम्य मुनिपुंगवम् ।
माहात्म्यं श्रोतुमिच्छामि परमं द्विजसत्तम ॥ १ ॥
