अष्टौ शतसहस्राणि दानवानां परंतपः ।
निहत्य पुरुषव्याघ्रः प्राग्ज्योतिषमुपाद्रवत् ।
बाह्यप्राकारमध्ये तु जघान पुरुषोत्तमः ।
जनमेजयः भगवञ्छ्रोतुमिच्छामि विस्तरेण कथामिमाम् ।
अवधीन्नरकं कृष्णः कथं वद तपोधन ।
तं च पञ्चजनं घोरं नरकस्य महासुरम् ॥ ५२ ॥
