The Sanskrit edition of the Harivamsa, an important addition to the larger epic Mahabharata, existing in several editions. The text deals with the ancient Indian Solar and Lunar dynasties leading and recounts the history of Krishna.

Verse 50.20

धात्री कंसस्य भोजस्य पूतनेति परिश्रुता ।
पूतना नाम शकुनी थोरा प्राणभयंकरी ।
आजगामार्धरात्रे वै पक्षौ क्रोधाद्विधुन्वती ।
तस्मै स्तनं दुर्जरवीर्यमुल्बणं ।
घोराङ्कमादाय शिशोर्ददावथ ।
गाढं कराभ्यां भगवान्प्रपीड्य ।
प्राणैः समं रोषसमन्वितोऽपिबत् ॥ सा मुञ्च मुञ्च बालमिति प्रभाषिणी ।
निष्पीड्यमानाखिलजीवमर्मणि ।
विवृत्य नेत्रे चरणौ भुजौ मुहुर् ।
विक्लिन्नगात्रा क्षिपती रुरोद ह ॥ तस्याः स्वनेनातिगभीररंहसा ।
साद्रिर्मही द्यौश्च चचाल सग्रहा ।
रसा दिशश्च प्रतिनेदिरे जनाः ।

चूर्णयामास राजेन्द्र महदासीत्तदद्भुतम् ॥ ईषामात्रोग्रदंष्ट्रास्यं गिरिकन्दरनासिकम् ।
गण्डशैलस्तनं रौद्रं प्रकीर्णारुणमूर्धजम् ।
अन्धकूपगभीराक्षं पुलिनारोहभीषणम् ।
बद्धसेतुभुजोर्वङ्घ्रि शून्यतोयह्रदोदरम् ।
बालं च तस्या उरसि क्रीडन्तमकुतोभयम् ।
गोप्यस्तूर्णं समभ्येत्य जगृहुर्जातसंभ्रमाः ॥ यशोदारोहिणीभ्यां ताः समं बालस्य सर्वतः ।
रक्षाम् विदधिरे सम्यग्गोपुच्छभ्रमणादिभिः ॥ गोमूत्रेण स्नापयित्वा पुनर्गोरजसार्भकम् ।
रक्षां चक्रुश्च शकृता द्वादशाङ्गेषु नामभिः ।
ततोऽर्धरात्रसमये शकुनिः प्रत्यदृश्यत ॥ २० ॥

ಪೂತನಾ ನಾಮ ಶಕುನೀ ಥೋರಾ ಪ್ರಾಣಭಯಂಕರೀ ।
ಆಜಗಾಮಾರ್ಧರಾತ್ರೇ ವೈ ಪಕ್ಷೌ ಕ್ರೋಧಾದ್ವಿಧುನ್ವತೀ ।
ತಸ್ಮೈ ಸ್ತನಂ ದುರ್ಜರವೀರ್ಯಮುಲ್ಬಣಂ ।
ಘೋರಾಙ್ಕಮಾದಾಯ ಶಿಶೋರ್ದದಾವಥ ।
ಗಾಢಂ ಕರಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಭಗವಾನ್ಪ್ರಪೀಡ್ಯ ।
