The Garga-samhita Verse 8.13.129, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 8 of Chapter 13 (A Thousand Names of Lord Balarama) of Canto 8 (balabhadra-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

कालह् पतह-वादित्रो
हुङ्कारो गर्जित-स्वनह्
साधुर् भक्त-पराधीनह्
स्वतन्त्रह् साधु-भूषणह्

kālah pataha-vāditro
huṅkāro garjita-svanah
sādhur bhakta-parādhīnah
svatantrah sādhu-bhūṣaṇah

He is time (kāla). Paṭaha drums are sounded to celebrate His victory (pataha-vāditra). He roars ferociously (huṅkāra and garjita-svana). He is saintly (sādhu), submissive to His devotees (bhakta-parādhīna), independent (svatantra), and decorated with the ornaments of saintly qualities (sādhu-bhūṣaṇa).
