क्षौमाम्बरो भूमि-शायी
भूत्वा पायस-भोजनह्
एवं निर्जित-षड्-वर्गो
भवेद् एकाग्र-मानसह्

kṣaumāmbaro bhūmi-śāyī
bhūtvā pāyasa-bhojanah
evaṃ nirjita-ṣaḍ-vargo
bhaved ekāgra-mānasah

kṣaumāmbarah—wearing simple cotton clothing; bhūmi-śāyīsleeping on the ground; bhūtvā—becoming; pāyasa-bhojanah—eating milk; evam—thus; nirjita-ṣaḍ-vargah—controlling the sex material tendencies; bhavet—should become; ekāgra-mānasah—meditating with single-pointed concentration.

English translation of verse 8.10.12:

Wearing simple cotton clothing, sleeping on the ground, and fasting from all but milk, one may conquer the six material tendencies and meditate with single-pointed concentration.
